Lecture on “Role of Foreign Economic Assistance in Pakistan’s Economy” at National Institute of Management (NIM), Lahore on 3rd October, 2024.

Dr. Rashid Amjad Professor of Economics and Director Graduate Institute of Development Studies (GIDS) delivered the above lecture to senior officers (BS-19) from the Federal and Provincial governments and public sector organisation as part of the Course that focuses on public policy formulation and implementation at strategic / operational level and is a pre-requiste for promotion of the participants to BS-20.

The lecture covered defining and understanding foreign economic assistance, its trends in Pakistan, it’s role in Pakistan’s economic growth and development, issues and challenges in negotiations with multilateral organizations (IMF, World Bank and others) and the underlying political economy of foreign economic assistance.
