Dr. Nasra Shah participated in the Policy Dialogue on Migration and Development organized by the Pakistani German Facilitation and Registration Centre (PGFRC) on December 12th-13th, 2023 at the Mariott Hotel, Islamabad

The Policy Dialogue on Migration and Development was organized by the Pakistani German Facilitation and Registration Centre (PGFRC) along with the GIZ and the Government of Pakistan. During the two-day Policy Dialogue, Dr. Shah shared her opinions on migration as an expert panellist in two sessions. These sessions were entitled as Migration Policy and Governance and Shaping the Future: Regional Labour Mobility from Pakistan, respectively. She highlighted the changing dynamics of international mobility and the need for reskilling and upskilling the labour force for improved economic prospects. In her talk, Dr. Shah also emphasized the importance of regional cooperation for improved integration of informal migrants into the system. Lastly, while commenting on the ongoing efforts to ensure efficient and timely data collection, she posited that reliable and regular data availability is essential for robust research and policymaking on migration and labour mobility.
